Shreya Ghoshal first caught the eye of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali
when she participated in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa for a second time in 2000. After
witnessing her burgeoning talent first hand, he offered her a playback
opportunity in Devdas and the rest is history. She went on to win her
first Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer, as well as
Filmfare's RD Burman Award for Best New Music Talent. It was a seminal
moment for Shreya, who also won the National Film Award for the song
"Bairi Piya". She has gone on to lend her voice to Bollywood and South
Indian movies as well, and her vocal talents have been recognized by way
of four National Awards and many more awards, such as four Filmfare
Award for Best Female Playback Singer and four Filmfare Awards in the
South as well.
